Tinted my Windshield
I know it’s not a Durango.. I was orig. going to drive the Durango down (2hr away) and get it tinted but I was running late for work and no gas in the Durango so I just took my fusion instead. I got 70%.
I’ll be doing 50% on the Durango in a couple months.
Regardless hopefully this helps people with giving an idea at least...
Current setup: 15% front sides, 5% rears, 70% windshield

Not only that, but I'd be willing to bet it sucks driving at night. Cops will have a hay day with you when they notice it.

It's 70%. No problem seeing out at night.
Random fact to educate you.. Newer cars come with a UV coating which already cuts the factory windows down to about 73%. That's sitting there at the dealership with 1 mile on it.
Don't knock it until you experience it. Otherwise you'll look like a fool.
And applying any film to a windshield is illegal. Heck even the clear films are. It's funny because our patrol cars have tint all around and yet, tickets are still issues. Revenue generator? I personally don't agree with enforcing such laws.. That one is in place to generate money but some people do abuse the product and apply films that are more cool than practical.
There is a fine line of practical and stupid. I wouldn't go less than 50% on the windshield. Otherwise you'll start to hamper night vision.
Prescription night time driving glasses range from 50-80%.
So there you go. But again, experience for yourself before you go knocking on doors

In my state, applying tint to the windshield is legal as long as it doesn't come down farther than the AS1 line.
I am aware of factory windows being installed with a factory UV shield, this is acceptable as it it applied at the plant, however, it doesn't change the fact that YOU applied aftermarket windshield tint to your vehicle and are blocking an additional 20% of light transparency. Sure the local police might do it, but you must not understand that they have a mission. Just because they can do something, doesn't mean it applies to you too.

So if I drive my patrol car with tint wrapped around the entire vehicle.. Then I get into my personal vehicle.....
I was taught to use my best judgement and enforce any laws per my discretion. So until the department I work for tells me otherwise, I'll stand by my ways.
Which again goes back to the fine line of practical vs abusive. The law is there in place and if I personally see abuse of the situation then yes I would enforce such laws. Otherwise if we are all dicks throwing the books at every broken law without discretion, what do we have?
Needs to be a balance. Laws are the grays between the black and white of right or wrong.

Nevermind, it's just me. I think 90% of the crap people do to alter vehicles is lame. To me, tinting a windshield is not in the other 10%. Whatever floats your boat, go for it, but don't get upset if everyone else doesn't agree it's cool.
