Default Lost heat

Yesterday, I lost heating on my truck. And bad timing too with the cold front coming to DFW and temps in the upper 20's in the early morning hours.

I get barely warm air after truck is warm. I suspect it is the temperature control **** that problably controls the blend door. I can tell if I turn the temp control to cold, the air is cold as it is outside. When i turn it all the way to heat, I can tell it is not fully going to heat. Kinda stuck in mix mold with possibly 80/20 mix of cold/hot air.

Heater core is working fine, tested the heater hoses and both supply/return hoses are HOT.

So what possible remedies to look for? I am thinking worse case scenario of possibly tearing down the dash again if the problem is the blend door! (pray it is not)

Crossing my fingers as I am taking my truck in to my friend's shop to get this fixed. Driving in 11 degree weather in the last few mornings has been brutal!

Finally my mechanic got my heating issue resolved. The cable that controls the blend door got jammed and kinked for some reason.

Glad he did not have to tear down the dash to fix this so kept the repair bill down.

So do you know what he did? Did he replace the cable or just adjust it to take the kink out and was it easy for him to get to cause I have the same problem with only getting mild heat. I have to put it on defrost n floor to get a lil warmth outa her.

He was able to unkink the cable. Maybe have fell off a cable brackett or something that keeps the cable tension and cause the issue. The temp control ****, I know that it felt like a cable issue, had trouble trying to move it back to cold.

ya I took my dash apart today after reading this to take a look and see if my problem was the same as yours but it wasn't im thinking im gonna have to do a flush and change the thermostat and see from there cause I had a new thermostat that I was gonna put in when I was replaceing my water pump ( so much fun by the way ) but got hard up on money so had to return it and just put the new fan clutch and water pump in and never did the thermostat I think I got a failsafe one in there and that's why it takes so long to warm up unless I drive it
