Started my Durango this morning in really cold weather. It barely turned over but it started. I can hear ticking noise like it is the lifter or something but not sure if it is or not.
The 4.7 gets picky with weak batteries. The ticking you hear is most likely lifter noise, also a common occurrence. Unless of course it doesn't go away soon after startup. Maybe get a video with the noise to help us help you?

I going to pick up new battery Thursday night after work when I get my paycheck. I will try to take a video of it tomorrow. You think you can hear it better with the hood up or close?
First I read about a truck being picky about a battery.
Thankfully mine didnt act up when it died.. That seems like it'd be annoying
I didn't think so either but I remember reading about it on here somewhere. Just hope it turn over in the morning when I taking a video of the ticking noise. The temperature right now here in Two Rivers, WI is -15 degrees and -39 degrees windchill.
Heck the new Ram Hemi ticks like crazy. Ever since picked it up at the dealer with 4 miles on it. Now nearly two years later it has 8k miles and the same tick. Sometimes there are just unexplainable noises you just gotta let roll.

My Trans Am had lifter tick. Bugged the crap out of me. Me and my friend took apart the engine and look at the lifters. Everything was fine. Then I find out that it's occassionally normal with GM small blocks ranging from their trucks to vettes. Eventually I got used to the sound and it became a part of the exhaust, intake and cam concerto...
Remember American V8s are super polished versions of their yesteryear counterparts so some analog oddities from those days will show up now and then.
Sounds like lifter tick but the pace seems faster...then again it looks like a cold start so idle would be high. Under warm idle the tick should follow a rhythm of triplet notes (think 1-and-a, 2-and-a...) with 2 notes per measure. Hopefully you get that thats the best way i can describe it.
Here is the video of the noise. I pretty sure it is the lifter but want to make sure.
Definitely sounds like lifter tick, however it seems to be a lot higher pitched than anything I've heard. I don't know if me switching to synthetic oil made any change but yours is almost ear piercing.
