I will try to take lots of pictures an I will post if I do. I am familiar with build/repair threads.

I am currently on my 3rd build in the last decade, all Toyotas. 1st was a 2gen 4Runner (no lift, 33x12.5, spool, winch), 2nd was an 85 X-Cab(RUF, F150's, Spool, High steer), 3rd and current is another 2nd gen 4Runner (BJ spacers, 4" Procomp Coils, extended brake lines, spool, custom rear bumper/swing away tire carrier etc).

Hopefully I'll be starting this on Saturday if all goes well!

Well, it's been a while. Due to school and life in general I have finally got time to tear into the parts truck. I decided that it would be easier to swap the entire rear axle instead of just the gear set.

So the front diff is out, rear axle is out, larger alternator is out as well as the matching third row seat (replaced mine due some crap spilled on it and torn carpet)

Here are all the pictures that I have of it, they are taken at our local Air Force Base Auto Club - I became a member, so no more working outside!

Today I will be swapping the axles over to my D, then tomorrow complete diff fluid change and bring it home.

Here is my D!

You should paint the fender flares from the parts one and put them on yours.

I already have a set waiting to go on, but I want to repair that rear fender first.

Now on with this repair thread......

I didn't manage to get too many pictures. I was just way too busy, and didn't want to get my phone dirty.

Also sorry for the crappy cell pictures. Here are pictures of the failure.

Doesn't look too bad here!

Looks a bit worse!

Worse yet, but still not the worst!

Now for the worst part yet! Found this when I removed the plastic shroud that is under the rad!

One of the neighborhood strays must have chased it into the truck.

Now today I need to service the rear brakes, bleed them, fill the rear diff, then bolt the rims/tires and I am done!

Buttoned up the D for the most part. Had plans to go bleed the brakes, fill rear diff, and test it.

I quickly found out that the donor axles wheel cylinders were pooched and one of mine was leaking, so I still need to do them. I did button it up to get it out of the shop so someone else can use it until I get back at it this weekend.

Tested all gear/transfercase options, everything is working well. I am really liking the 3.92/LSD over the open 3.55's. Just feels like a better combination with the 32x11.5" AT's.
Here is 2 maiden voyage picture.

Just my opinion but that lime green pinstripe looks ugly, hard to believe anyone thought that was a good look on their D.
