I got the 2001 Durango finished that I purchased wrecked awhile back. I'm just working out a couple bugs. I noticed the overhead console doesn't show any readings except for direction. The temp and mpg readings just show two horizontal lines like this -- any idea what to check? Could it be a fuse or something? I assume the temp sensor is bad but I didn't know why the mpg won't display.

Its not making a connection to the Bus System... Mine would do that every so often and later found that the wire for "CCD Bus +" (PCI Bus + on yours) had came loose. Being that yours was wrecked its likely a wire could have got broken in the accident.

 

Problem solved thanks guys. The violet wire with a yellow stripe was broken
