Its up to you, just be ready that i could be a 2 pin switch... if that does not work it looks like your gonna have to order the $50 one. Personally i would yank one from the yard...

If this one isn't the right one ill end up having to get one from the junkyard. Usually the engines and transmissions yet yanked along with thr transfer case almost immediately though.

Well the switch got here today, but it was only the 2 pin one. I'm going to complain to them and see if they'll do something about it. It does say it's for the 242 case, so it should be 4 pin.

The nv233 and nv244 are the electronically shifted ones from 01-03. The nv231 and nv242 are the mechanically shifted ones from 98-00. Mine is the nv242 which has full time.

You mean the Part Time function.

I know you've looked at the FSM but I wanted to post this for the others. The harness you want is the 4 prong harness, but there is only 3 usable pins. Looking at the harness connector with the tab up;

A is at top centered = Ground
B is at bottom centered = Full Time 4X4 Sensor
C is on the right middle = Un-Used
D is on the left middle = Part Time Sensor

It is going to be very hard to find this connector at a junk yard, the NV242 case wasn't installed in many trucks. Might want to look into Jeeps.

I meant it has full time compared to the 231.

I did get the wiring jumper that goes from the main wiring to the sensor that has the 4 pin (3 of which are used) connector. I emailed the place I got the wrong switch from with the mopar part number (56006755) to see if they have the right one.

Seriously? not arguing or anything but, i never seen a 98 or a 99 with a 231 (atleast in my area)... Matt's is the first that i seen. Now i have never seen a 2000 or a ram with a 242 and of course the 233 and 244's came post 2001.
