I bought a pair of alpine component speakers for $40 for the front and they sound great as far as I'm concerned.

Got some from Crutchfied and put them in today. Great support on the phone but I got to tell ya, I thought it would be a little easier. Have to modify adapters to fit the stock ones, then drill out holes to mount speakers in because the holes don't line up. They send you so much extra stuff it's had to figure out just what you need. Then I get some sort of cross over that they say I have to wire into my tweeters and mount in the door. Tweeters don't mount to factory mounts so you have to fab some up. Just a little more of a project than I thought. Great company to deal with though.

Oh yea, the old speakers have just become detatched from the ring as others had said was probably the problem. Any market in the old speakers or is anybody interested in them?

mine were trash so in the trash they went I am very pleased with the hertz speakers and will not hesitate to give them a huge thumbs up. They are not the cheapest or most expensive but dang they are the best sounding I have ever had. Everyone so far that has rode and listened to rock in my ride are impressed. I had never heard of them before but now know it is my own fault in not paying attention.
