Go ahead and jack up the wheel and try to wobble it to check for slop in the wheel bearing. And if it is the pump it should do it while stationary, so while stopped you could have someone turn the wheel while you listen around for noises. You can take a broom handle or something similar, place the end of it on the pump and the other end of your ear. That will let you isolate where the noise is coming from.

Intense blue is the best color there is. You should post some pictures of it.

Thanks for all input!!! We had more "get`er done s/ta do`s"....LMAO! I Really think its 1 of those Aggravating sounds & not a safety issue! I would not drive IF!!!
"Blue", we bought back in November, $1500, really I "think" we got a perty good deal! NEVER owned a 4X4 & after this past winter in S/central ILL....we had snow!!!....Blue did a Mighty fine job!!!! Spring time, Mushroom time,& some places are sticks area, drop`er down a trans shift(& Yes , I have read & its NOT Full Time 4X4, PT), I`m Still learning! Once again, Blue did a FINE job! After I thought she was a Keeper, I put new skin`s on her, 235/75/15`s...Goodyears.
I`ll jack`er up, have the oldest Dotter spin the steering wheel. Oh, just remembered, that_guy, GOOD broom handle trick!!!....but I Do have an engine stethoscope...Thank ya`all again for info!!!!!!.....GAS

AK, Nope, you Win! 180K+ on Blue. But I know fer a Fact, them 318`s, ya can `bout hit`em w/a sledge hammer...& they`ll smile back at`cha...LOL!

So me & oldest daughter gotter up in the air. I twisted L & R, up & down, its not a wheel bearing. While I was down there thought I`d grab the grease gun....3 & 3(L&R) by the tire(grease fittings) & 2 middle draglink fit`ns. She/we drove it down the road about a mile 1 way, when turning `round it wasn`t as bad....at This point , I`m guess`n but a bind & prolly DL! Will also admit, theres a leak on a PS hose But, there was plenty fluid in the reservoir. I`ll keep up updates......GAS....more input is Fine & Welcomed!!!
