Default bed liner fender flares/bumper

yesterday and today i fixed some rust on the front bumper of the rango and used spray bed liner to cover it inside and out after sanding. it looked so good i decided to do my fender flares too.

i started using rust-oleum brand. it made a good base coat but sprayed in blotches. i bought some dupli-color bed liner at napa and it was 10 time better. the dupi-color covered very good and even. if you do this make sure you scuff up the paint before spraying.

Dang that looks freaking GOOD! I might have to black out my fender flares too.

To complete the 'lower black trim line all the way around' look, consider doing the upper portion of the rear bumper too.

I would NOT have done the tailgate at all. That part looks really odd to me now. The grill is red with a dip into the black of the front bumper. The rear would look better with the same treatment. I would also have taken off the black rubber tread piece off before painting, or mask around it at least.

the reason i did the bottom of the tailgate is because i had just fixed 2 rust holes about 3 inches wide each on the corners, also sprayed the inside of the lip. and i did take the plastic bumper trim off when i sprayed it. the plastic was pretty sun faded and didn't look right like that. the main reason i did all of this is to fix rust holes in the hatch and front bumper. i really didn't want to put much money into it. if i did i would of just had it painted.
