Todd, when they replace the CTM they have to reprogram the alarm (or the key fob's) and everything so unless you have an aftermarket alarm they will have to do it.

Thanks. Has anyone complained to (The Dodge People) about this ? Sounds like I will spend the money and get it fixed. Great Truck otherwise!

I have a 2001 Durango. Anyone out there have the cruise control buttons, the radio hand control buttonsand the horn in the steering wheel only work sporadically, then quit working? The controls started to work sporadically but any two would not work at one time. Now only one of the three sets of controls will work occasionally. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I just had a crazy experience yesterday. I noticed that when I used my remote to unlock the doors, it set off the alarm. I pushed the unlock button several times and it stopped the alarm. The vehicle started fine and then went haywire when I hit about 15mph. The locks began locking and unlocking, the horn was beeping, the windshield wipers turned on, my high beams were flashing, and the interior "ding" was going off. WTF??? It stopped and started again all within a 2 mile trip. Once I got home, the locks would only work manually, the headlights didn't work, and the interior lights were blinking.

Today, the Durango is fine and all components work. This is insane!!!

I just followed the advice in an earlier post...I disconnected and reconnected the battery. All is working perfect now. Hopefully it will continue working.....

Update: Well, the engine light never came back on, nor did the Service 4WD light. However, my headlights and dome lights have been flickering and making a clicking sound. My keyless entry still works, and so do my locks.

I'm just not sure what to do...I really hope it's not the CTM.

Well, I just gave in and ordered the CTM. My dealership wanted to charge me $220 for the part (no labor or diagnostic, just the part)...but Iordered it online from www.makeitmopar.com for $106. I'm super happy with that price!!!

I'll still need to have the dealership program my remote...but it willbea far cry from the $500 other people have spent for the CTM.

Default 2003 durango turn signals

With my headlights off when I turn on my left turn signal my hazard flashers are activated and my radio light, odometer light and gear selector light begin to flash on and off with the hazard flashers, And when I turn on the headlights, the left turn signal indicator in the dash stays lit and unblinking, the left rear tailight stays lit and bright as if the brake light is on and the front turn light is constantly bright. I have already had the sockets replaced and the multifunction switch replaced also by a certified mechanic, they cannot give me any suggestions except to say that it is an electrical problem but don't have an idea as to what may be causing this. Do you have reports of this problem?

It sounds just like a short to voltage not a CTM issue. You just need to find where the wires are shorting across each other. How much do you know about electrical and testing?
