CTM Issues
I have a 2000 Dakota (no issues)
I had a 98 Durago (no issues) but it was totaled sitting in front of my house.
We love the trucks and the body style so we decided to buy another...
A 2002 Durango.....and its fn loaded......
after about a week of owning it, the CTM apparently failed.
I lost headlights, door locks, key fob entry, internal power locks, interior lights,
intermittent wipers no longer work (only last two positions work at constant wipe), rear wiper doesnt work, dash lights are out, and the clock time was reset.
didnt think to check steering wheel controls as they are for cruise control and I dont use it......but they are prolly out too.....
Have they recalled this yet......my dealer told me $350 for the part based on my VIN# I suppose.......which he needed to look up the part to begin with.
The dealer called it the body control module, which I already knew was the same thing.
With so many reports of this on the internet, I can not believe they are offering nothing to the owners of this obviously flawed product.....
Tomorrow I will try the battery trick, but I still want it replaced.

Central Timer Module 2001 - 03 Dodge Durango
Hello Everybody,
The Central Timer Module, Mopar Part # 05114191AA is a very common problem to 2001 - 2003 Dodge Durangos, and Dakotas. There might be some other models affected also. I had mine replaced at Bell Dodge in Phoenix, AZ. I paid $554.95 with labor. They charged me 2 hours of labor, so I think I got ripped off a little. Make sure they reprogram your remote key fobs too.
I may have paid a little more, but it beats driving that Durango with blinking lights at night. My wife and I renamed out Durango "Blinky". I had to plan my daily routine to make sure I wasn't caught out on the road after dark. Other drivers would stare at me on the road, and I even had a Highway Patrol officer give me a second look and shake his head as he passed me by. I guess he was too busy to pull me over to ask why my lights were blinking.
Anyways, I did file a NHTSA Recall Request complaint at:
https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/
Maybe if more people file complaints, the NHTSA will finally recall these affected vehicles and make Dodge fix this dangerous driving condition.
Cheers,
Bill.
