Don, for 90% of basic stuff the OBD reader with a tablet will be fine, but my reader also does SRS and ABS codes as well as running diagnostic tests. It also allows you to see freeze frame data that triggered the CEL to come on. so worth every penny to me, or anyone else who knows how to use that data and information to their advantage. Definitely overkill for the average shade tree guy.

Yeah, that's a lot more ability that I expected form $140. When I last shopped for a dedicated device, $100+ only got you read/clear for basic CEL situations.

yea i lucked out, saw it on amazon as a lightening deal i think it normally goes for like $400-500, it was on rediculous sale and since its usb updatable it should never be out of date
