How difficult is a body lift to install? Do I need a steering extension?

body lift is relatively easy... takes some time though... not sure about steering extension but depending on your 4x4 type you need an extension for that...

Yes you need a steering extension, it comes with the kit. I believe 2000+ were electric transfer case switch not the good old floor shifter.

Search I was wondering because as my miles rack up my leafs are starting to get weak. I am worried that a shackle would flatten em' quickly, also I would like to keep the stock size shocks. Then do a torsion lift.

just get a new set of leaf springs... how much do you wanna lift it? with the ts lift you keep the normal shocks... why would you wanna have the rear end of the rango 2 inches higher than the rest of the rig?

Just the 2in torsion, but I get what you are saying cause the axel housing is about 3-4 inches in diameter would make the rear sit real high. I would really like to keep the load capacity up there, that is why I was thinking add a leaf lift in the rear.

But then you have the front end sitting up higher. I have about 115k on my D and the new shackles didn't do anything different. The shackles are longer but the same amount of weight is on the rear. How time consuming would a 3inch body lift be? I do have the electric transfer case, I really want to install this lift sometime. What all is involved?

I PMd him and so far have got no response. My next question is what size tires MAX could I fit on my stock 16" rims with a total of 5" of lift, 2 being the T/S lift and 3 from a B/L? I've been looking into some 275/70R16 BFGs for my next tire change. Too bad I JUST got new tires about 4 months ago. Looks like after I get that detroit locker installed, I'll have to burn some rubber. My only concern is that my 235/85R16s will looks too small with 5", they are the same height as the stock 265s just skinnier and more sidewall. Right now I think they look a little bit too big.

Found a Legit tire size calculator. Looks like I could get a 285/75R16 and that would get me a 32.8" tire.
