If the sensors are contacting the parts they are supposed to read, yeah, that's a problem, and needs to be addressed.

Why would the dealer sell me the sensors with no spacers?!?!!!! UGH! Thanks for the help. I really hope putting in spacers fixes and clears the code! Ill post an update.

They don't generally come with spacers. If you need a bit more clearance, just bend the bracket a bit. You only want a very little bit of a gap.... too far away, and it won't read properly.

if both sensors are new and undamaged (you said you had scrapes/scratches on the sensors, i would imagine those are now damaged) and you still get the code then id check the wires. If the wires are good then the only thing left that i can think of is the PCM

Wouldnt i have other issues if it were something that serious???
Why wouldnt i get a "no bus" signal if pcm was bad?

PCM can fail multiple ways, not all of them send codes and not all of them stop the truck from running properly.

personally, i feel that its a problem in the wire harness if the sensors are new, as the PCM failure will typically (not always) present other seemingly unlreated issues at the same time.

Thank you much! The truck has NO other issue except it tried to die on me when i accelerated onto the highway (and the CEL and p1391). Theres not even so much as an electrical issue on the inside. Again thank you!! The mechanic who looked at it claimed to check the wires and connectors, but maybe i shld look for myself or get a 2nd opinion. It was a free diagnostic bc he couldnt find a problem. I dont wanna lose the rango! ANY ideas are greatly appriciated!! Except those having to do with bad PCM LOL. Jk thanks for your reply too. Im just not ready to look into that as the issue yet.

I also need to ad that when my husband was changing the crank sensor he went to push it back in the whole and it wldnt go in all the way, we looked inside that hole and there was some bar like object directly down the middle... (flywheel or timing chain)... if that was in the way could that mean my timing is off???
