My Durango won’t start now
Im new here so I apologize if this has already been answered. But my 2000 Dodge Durango 5.9 liter will not start after taking off and cleaning the throttle body. I used throttle body cleaner, new gaskets and everything is hooked up right. I have ready that problems could be fuel pump, which I can hear working when I turn the key to ‘on’, or there is no spark. But it started just fine prior to cleaning the throttle body. Any ideas?
Recheck and make sure you plugged everything back in. The IAC valve on the back side of the throttle body is easy to miss.
If you didn't have the battery disconnected while you were cleaning the throttle body, do it now. Leave it disconnected for 15 minutes or so. Hook it back up, turn the key to "on", (not start), count to 10, THEN start the truck.

yeah I made sure the elbow was connected. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key to the on position. Have not changed the plugs or wires as of yet. Just can’t figure out why there would suddenly be an issue with fuel or spark just by cleaning the throttle body. Is that common? By the way, thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
No, not common.
It *should* have been a straightforward job, with no complications.
Did anything else get unplugged back there? That's about the only other thing I can think of, or maybe a pinched harness somewhere.
Does the pump run when you crank the engine as well?

Honestly i I couldn’t tell you. How would I be able to make sure it is running when I crank the engine??

Here’s a possibly stupid question. Every time I take the IAC sensor out it is retracted so I have been just pulling it out to where it should be. Would that cause problems? And I know that the first time I put everything back together and it didn’t start, when I took it back apart the IAC was retracted. Would it being retracted and then pulling it back out cause problems?
