I just changed the thermostat and water pump but it leaks as soon as I pour in new fluids. Any ideas

Where is it leaking from? What year is your Rango? What engine?

Not sure what you're asking. People change water pumps and t-stats all the time without issue. Basically, you did something, now it's broken, so go back and look at what you did wrong. You did close the radiator petcock, right?

My idea....get under the truck and see where it's leaking from.

sorry for lack of information. it is a 2000 with the 5.9 engine. It leaks from the side of water pump. it also looked like it was leaking from behind the water pump. I used the form a seal last night but maybe didn't let it sit long enough. first time using it. I am going to replace it again using the paper seal that it came with

Yes it is closed. It was pretty much running out the bottom last night and again after I replaced it. I was using the form a seal for the first time. Maybe I didn't let it sit long enough. I am going to try again with the paper gasket it came with

Was it leaking before you worked on it?

May need to go digging in there, to see where the leak is actually coming from. There is a small hose that goes from the water pump, to the intake, that is VERY difficult to see with everything assembled. Think I would clean things up, run it for a bit, then go lookin' for the leak.

Thanks for the advice to all. Turned out the form a gasket does not work for me lol. Replaced it with the paper gasket and just test drove it with no leaks. ☺
