Good Deal? 2002 Dodge Durango SLT
My wife and I recently moved from Atlanta to Boise and we sold her Minivan and bought a Jeep which she loves. But then we kinda thought it would be nice to have another 4WD/AWD vehicle (a cash car) for some mile trail riding and potential nasty winter days. I looked for another Jeep and they were just either beat to hell or had lotsa miles with no maintenance records of any kind so I started looking at the Durango. I really like that some of these have the 3rd row which we miss from the van.
Anyway, to the point. I'm going to check out this Durango Tomorrow night and it seems like a pretty good deal. It's a 2002 Dodge Durango SLT 4.7 with 152K miles. Original owners, all maintenance records, Leather is plush with no tears. It looks super clean, I mean pictures can be deceiving but they say no dents or scratches, always garaged, and no accidents. Heated seats, 3rd row, tow package, running boards. $3200
Are there any glaring particulars I should look for? I seems like a great deal for a capable truck.
Thanks!

I was never really a fan of the 4.7 engine....... but, again, if it is well taken care of, they last a good long time.
That said, it's a used vehicle, so, inspect EVERYTHING you can get to easily.
Take it for a drive. Make sure the trans shifts properly, the engine doesn't have any issues, and the t-case works they way it should.

There's another thatst a 2005 with 5.7 Hemi for another 1500 bucks. 144k miles. Is that a better use of more money necessarily? I've never been a Mopar guy so I'm at a bit if a loss. The 4.7 in my wife's Grand Cherokee has plenty of power to move it, but admittedly I wouldn't want to tow anything more than a small utility trailer . Of course that's not the intent of either purchase .
