Default Question bout Bumper Covers

Ok I know that 1st gen durangos are all pretty much the same which brings me to my question, I am looking to get the keystone restyling front and rear bumper covers, only thing is they state this only fits 98-2000 durangos and how is this?

Ive included the link to the bumper cover, Can anyone state that this wouldnt fit on a 03 Durango R/T?

https://www.carid.com/keystone-resty...mpn-dur-f.html

Thanks!

At one point in time they went to an all plastic front cover. The older ones are 2 piece, metal on top, plastic on bottom.

I went out and looked and yea the 03 has the one piece plastic bumper cover where as my 98 has the metal top ,plastic bottom.

Well I guess this is my question, I want to replicate my R/T to look just as my 98 was back in her hay day, I want to swap out the hood from my 98 to my 03 ( will this be compatible? ) and then wanted to get dual exhaust with the idea of getting front and rear bumper covers, then finalizing her off with a black racing stripe, but if these wont work I have no clue what my options are, and the ones I have seen other then the keystones I'm not keen on, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated =)

My 03' Dakota (SLT) has the metal bumper with plastic valance. Not sure if they were doing differently on the Durangos. They should all interchange.

I wonder if they maybe kept the metal bumpers for the chrome ones like yours. Like you said though, I can't imagine them not interchanging. You'd think it would be cheaper to just go all plastic with them instead of keeping the metal ones around to have that chrome strip there. Very weird on dodges part.

Yeah, I think it all depends on the trim.

Its weird cause the back one which is set up for dual exhaust is listed as a component that will work on the 03 R/T, I would have to think that one way or another that the front bumper cover could be made to work, or maybe I just stick with what I got on the front, Decisions, Decisions, lol

The front bumper should work as well. Worst case scenario maybe you need to get some brackets or something off of a Durango in the salvage yard, but that's no big deal. The front bumpers should be interchangeable.

Man, that's one Sharp Forest Green Durango. Mine since new is a 99, three piece front bumper on mine. Top cover,, bottom cover,, and a metal bumper beneath, or inside the top cover. The bottom is trash, and I'm surprise it hasn't blown off at high speeds. Mine got smacked so I know what it's made of and the several hard to get to braces underneath.
I replaced mine with junk yard stuff but where the top on mine bolts to the bottom,"both plastic", never mated well so I'm going to do something different.
It looks to me like the Dakota, very strong all steel bumper,"they also have different bumper options", will bolt on to the frame the same, but wont look very sporty, that's for sure.
Iron Bull Bumpers in Grande, truly seems to be top quality and as rugged as one wants with a pleasant appearance.
$1200.00 but you can keep if for a lifetime. Maybe next year for my time to get the one I have picked out. You wont break these and they don't look EIEIO at all. I'm not sure I'll ever get around to doing the rear bumper, just replace it if it ever gets smacked.

Next warm day I'm going to replace the lower core support, or radiator brace, It is slightly bent from the accident, and I had to tweak the new radiator to make it go in to the rubber grommets where it rides. I was able to get the replacement lower support from a friend that had a parts Dakota,"same thing", have to remove headlight buckets, but Dodge makes it easy, and several bolts here and there. That should straighten the 1/4 inch misalignment on the right fender as well I'm hoping. I like things to be lined up where they belong. Still kind of enjoy yanking these Mopar's apart. They just seem to make more since to me compared to a lot of the other ones.
