Long story short, wrecked my Gen 2 05 Limited and picked up an 01 R/T. I'm in a position to scavenge parts off my Gen 2 and was wondering has anyone tried to retrofit a Gen 1 with a Gen 2 Infinity system? Is the wiring harness compatible? Just have to say the sound system in the R/T sucks compared to the Limited.

Are there any other upgrades I scavenge off the Gen 2?

 

so I've answered my own question GEN 2 amp is not a direct connect to a GEN 2. I've decided to upgrade the amplifier. Does anyone know where I can find a harness adapter to keep the OEM connector intact?

I've been looking at Crutchfield, can only find the radio harness, not an amp harness interface. I'm leaning more towards just bypassing the factory amp and running new wiring. Was hoping to just use the existing but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
