Default 98 Durango Instrument Panel Lights Issue

Hi, all. The instrument panel backlights for the speedo, tach, etc. in my daughter's 98 Durango no longer come on when we turn on the headlamps. I have changed a 5A fuse that was blown but that did no good, and I'm not 100% sure I know that the fuse I changed did much of anything. I have also switched out the whole instrument cluster, and the same problem persists. The warning lights and turn signal indicators all work. Are there particular fuses I should be looking at? Do you have any other suggestions before I take it to a mechanic? I hate to put a ton of money into tracking down an electrical issue.

Are the tail lights and everything working? They're fused together I believe. If they're working I'd be suspect of the headlight switch.

Yes. All the exterior lights work (though the left turn signal is blinking fast even though all the lights are working). When you say headlight switch, do you mean the **** I pull to turn them on?

Hello: I would agree with the headlight switch. Also did you check the new fuse ? Sometimes you can get a bad one. As for the turn signal flashing fast I would check the front bulbs , there are 2 to each side and if 1 is out it will flash fast. Could also be a rear bulb if the fronts are O - K . Good Luck .
