Default 2000 Durango 4.7L Cooling question

Hey all,

as the title states I have a question on the cooling system of my Durango. The radiator appears to have split at the drivers side lower corner and I've been looking at replacement units online...one question that keeps coming up is, is it MAX Cooling or not? How in blue blazes can you tell??? The D has the towing package with the external and internal transmission coolers but not sure what MAX Cooling is....One yard I called (All Chrysler and Dodge Auto Wrecking in Rancho Cordova, CA http://www.allchrysleranddodge.com/home.html) said to look for 4 coolant lines...other than that no real info...as an addendum, these guys are usually pretty sharp and tend to get 1st gen Durango's and Dakota's in on a regular basis...

Any info would be appreciated

Steve

Steve, generate a build sheet and it will tell you if it has max cooling pkg. Mine says... "Heavy Duty Engine Cooling".....

I went through the same dilemma when replacing my radiator but keep in mind, I have a Dakota. Not sure if they're the same for the Durango. Anyway, this thread describes the HD cooling radiator vs regular rads and what I replaced my radiator with. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-radiator.html

Here is how the front looks with the heavy duty tranny cooler seen at bottom (again, this is a Dak).
