Default Cranks, fires, dies

So I'm having an issue with my 01 Durango not running. The battery has juice. When I turn the key, it's cranks over and fires up, but will then stall almost immediately. Seems like a fuel issue. Any thoughts??

sounds like security system issue. Have a different key? try that maybe chip within key head went bad.
I had what you are talking about on my 01 when I went to the junkyard and got a different computer. If you do that you need to either send the replacement computer off with YOUR vin so they can reprogram computer OR get the key and ign switch from the donor and swap them both in and use the donor's key for the ignition, from now on....

I don't believe there is any chip in the key. It's just a key, no fob.

I do believe that is indeed a chipped key.

Just did a little research, and you may be correct. What would cause the chip in my key to fail though? I literally drove the thing around the entire day previous, parked it overnight, then had this issue first thing in the morning.

Usually it's just a poor connection between the key, and the module that reads it. If you have another key, see if that one behaves any differently.

May be time to get one. I think most any good locksmith can read your key, and get you the correct one. (I really don't know if the vehicle needs to be present for that exercise.....)
