Default 2001 Durango Dust Cover Removal AWD

Hi all,

I am in the process of removing an engine on a 2001 Durango R/T awd. I am now up to the dust cover from the transmission. I can't get it off. I removed the small 10mm bolts to the cover and I removed the two long 5/8 bolts going from the front differential into the transmission (Photo shows me working on the 1st). I can wiggle the cover a hair but its till not sliding down. Any pointers? I even took a jack and slightly lifted the front differential thinking it being pinched in still. Do I have to remove the front differential support fully?

Maybe loosen the two bolts that hold the support to the diff, and see if things don't get any easier.

I have searched the forum a few times, can't seem to find any write ups on someone removing a 5.9 which is odd. Search seems to be working correctly again.

Going to give loosening the other two bolts a try. I saw a ram 5.9 write up and apparently they have a bracket that connects to the front engine mount which isn't the case on the Durango's.

Well i had to loosen one of the two forward bolts. Hit it with heat and impact and was able to loosen the bolt and the cover slid out.
