Good news. I found the part. One of the junkyards just acquired a AWD durango. So the bounty on this part is over.

Mine is 4wd but not AWD. I don't think I have ever worked on an AWD version. It's been on most of the regular 4wd ones that I have seen though.

I suspect you will find that part on any Durango that actually has a front axle.

Yeah, we checked there too. That part was hell to find. Just lucky one of the junkyards just brought in a wrecked 4WD durango. I think wrecked 4WD durangos are not easy to come by in Texas. My mechanic had to drive out to physically remove the part. All in all, truck back in action, but the used differential hub, I think is making that odd gear whiny noise between 40-60mph. The used differential pumpkin, the internals are all replaced. so not sure why it is making this gear whiny noise between 40-60, I assume past 60, external noise drowns it out. The noise is faint but audible if you're not talking and no music on.
