Exclamation Front drive shaft is stuck

I'm trying to remove my front driveshaft, after removing all the bolts off of both ends, it still wont come off. The side that connects to the front diff was able to spin in circles like it was loose, I tried getting it to come off but it would not budge. After trying to get the transfer case side off the other side no longer spins. Any ideas on how to get this thing off?

It's been on there a while, and likes being there. Essentially, it rusts together. Smack it with a hammer a couple times, and hit it with some chems. It'll come off.

Probably some rust on the inner flange where there's a round bead. Those can be obstreperous. Personally, I'd use a small drift or pry bar and slide it in from the side, where there's a little room. Then apply a certified DBH and it will probably pop off. (DBH = Darn Big Hammer)

I was able to get a chisel in between the 2 pieces and pry them apart. It appears that the stud holding the yoke onto the diff is sticking out into the u joint flange preventing it from sliding off. Any ideas on how to get around this?

Is there just not enough room to get it off? If that's the case, disconnect the front from the diff, separate it there, then it should give you enough wiggle room to drop it out.

The threads go pretty far into the u joint flange so I dont think there is enough room. What do you mean by disconnecting the front from the diff?

You are working the t-case end, right? (not real clear in the pics....) So, disconnect the shaft from the front differential, and you should be able to shuffle it around enough to get it out. The shaft should also collapse some, though it may be stiff, as under normal circumstances, it doesn't move a whole lot.... (at all.....)

I am working on the differential side, the transfer case side also wont come off but looks to be more complicated with some sort of cv joint.

I haven't worked on one this new but usually there are internal splines. If they are rusted, it may be a real bear to get off. I think the threads you see are for the nut that holds the yoke on the differential. Your shaft will shorten enough at one end or the other to clear one end and let it drop out.
