Default 4.7 upgrades

I can't find a specific forum for this question so I'll ask it here. Are there any performance upgrades available for the 4.7 engines? I'm talking about the serious goodies. Billet cranks, H beam rods, high performance pistons, heads, superchargers and so on. I have yet to find any place that offers anything like that. It's surprising to me seeing as how many trucks came with that engine. Is it really that bad of an engine that it's been forgotten already?

Have a look here. Trouble is, spend a pile of money on the 4.7, or, just drop in a 5.7, and be further ahead. Most of the aftermarket support for the 4.7 dried up, due to a lack of demand...... Folks that wanted more power, just went to the larger engine.

Interesting. You weren't kidding about the pile of money either. So, my durango is a 2003 with the 4 plug PCM. How hard is it to swap in a 5.7? I looked through the thread with a 2002 dakota I believe it was but there is little info on doing it to an 03 durango. I assume the tranny is a direct swap but the PCM, motor mounts, exhaust and general wiring could be a nightmare to get working properly.

On that, I don't know.... there are various threads around here on that topic, but, not sure of the years covered.
