Hey guys! I have a 99 durango with the 5.9 liter v8 engine and the 9 1/4 rear differential with 3.55 gears. I changed the fluid on the rear diff and bought the mopar friction modifier ‘cause I saw a printed code in the axle saying 9.25 diff 3.55 TRAC LOCK. So i supposed i have the lsd diff, but when jacked up, the tires spin the opposite side one from the other 😮 i take out the cover, everything looks ok, but the diff case doesn’t look like a TRAC LOCK; can’t see the holes for the pins that locks the clutches or even the clutches 😞😞. Does anyone know if the trac lock cases are different from the Open diff? Now i don’t know if would be good to ad the friction modifier or not. Or if would be great idea to get the trac lock case, since Dodge owners site tells that it came with an ANTI SPIN DIFF! Thanks
I am not seeing any clutches in there.... Usually, the are on the side gears the axles go thru. Wonder if there was a problem earlier in it's life, and it got replaced.......

I guess it had some issues with previous owner, because the diff cover has a welded nut in the hole and has a screw that blocks the fluid instead of the rubber.
and i noticed (with my internet research)that the diff case or housing where the gears go, is different In shape than a trac lock 😞; what i do not know is if i can only put some clutches in it or i need to get the trac lock housing to have the anti spin diff working again.
You would need to replace the carrier, and if you are going that route, might just as well install something better than the track-lok..... Maybe the Detroit (Eaton) Tru-Trak? It's a helical gear limited slip, like used in the military hummers. No clutches, no friction modifier required. Works great.

i guess i will end doing that! I will check the tru-trak you’ve mentioned 😃 thanks so much for you support!!!
