Battery SIZE shouldn't matter, battery condition can cause some interesting problems though.... Of course, low voltage in the system will wreak all sorts of havoc, as the PCM depends on good voltage to get accurate readings from the various sensors.

What is your trans doing? (not doing...)

Default Shifting erratically

It hesitates into reverse and it continues to shift uncontrollably unless it's ( i assume) getting the correct amount of throttle. This is the first dodge I've owned do it's hard to put a finger on where to start

Shift uncontrollably? What do you mean? Is it shifting early? Late? Too often? Not at all??

Probably just an electronics problem....... Change the fluid/filter, adjust the bands, and replace the governor pressure sensor/solenoid.
