Default OEM Trailer Hitch wiring connector is screwy I think

Hello everyone, I have an interesting issue today. I have a 2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L SRT, I found a fuse on a wire attached to my fuse box under the hood, this fuse was blown so I replaced it with another 20 amp. Well the strangest thing happened, when the fuse was replaced my ABS and brake lights come on the dash along with my turn signal and brake lights too. They don't blink or anything, just on. I have traced the wire to a point, it kind of disappears after one lead goes into the firewall. I am thinking that this has to do with the trailer hitch wiring harness, that doesn't work either. Does this sound like I am on track?

Yep. Follow the rear harness back to where the trailer harness hits it. Dodge did some really cheap splicing there with that harness, and it is a know problem area. (on the trucks at least....)
