Default New 2000 D

I have just acquired a 00D 4.7Slt here in the Philippines and have several petty... faults that I am working to repair
Have very little history "brakes were just done" fluids changed. The last owner had it 1-2 years.
Drivers window regulator missing window held closed with two pieces of bamboo
a/c not the best have added some gas for now, heat not connected hoses doubled back On self, but plan to pull cabin assy and clean all before going further;
Brakes very sharp when first starting out (stand on nose if touched) but settle to average after a short drive pedal very spongy & fade's all the time.
Tranny fluid overfull and just threw a p1784 code, have checked and cleared for now (hoping overfill is fault) trying to check what fluid it has before going further.(common here to put in the standard Dexron "its red")
Several wiring mods had to be undone amp bypassed with wires directly to speakers non original radio not working, have installed 7inch android unit.
Lighting many connectors and sockets had to be de-cruded before they all played the game, front lenses polished to let the light out.
pax mirror not moving electrically (are these mirrors supposed to fold?)
power steering pressure hose leak (will be getting a new one made local)
Still finding things as I go along.
Any suggestions as to what I should look at on this vehicle
mileage 121K, 4wd

Power folding was an option..... Run your VIN here, and get a build sheet for your truck. That'll tell you what it came from the factory with.

Brakes sound like they're dragging. I'd guess bad hoses holding pressure on the calipers or the knuckles have grooves worn in them where the pads ride that need welded up and ground smooth again.

Definitely do not use dexron in your transmission, atf+4 only. There are 2 filters to change on that rfe transmission, one in the pan and a cannister on the side.

I'm not going to say it's not possible, but I've never seen or heard of power folding mirrors on 1st gen Durangos before. I'd imagine they're just manual ones of they do fold. The smaller "sport" mirrors don't fold the larger towing ones do. You'd see the gap in the towing ones where they move. The glass should adjust electrically unless it's a super base model one.

will be looking into the brakes shortly.
at the moment I do not know what atf is in the transmission am trying to get a lab ident done so that I can decide what to do with it!. Either purge or just drop the level
Mirrors now fold man-drolic had to gorilla them a little as they did not move at all, have also stripped and cleaned motors on pax mirror so both now working electrically

edit:- just looked at the front brakes and the calipers are swopped left and right so the bleed screws are on the bottom.. gona have to swap them back and bleed will probably do new fluid at the same time.

further request for info about my Durango.
I am in the Philippines and the local transport office need a "stencil" of the engine number (this means a pencil rubbing)
I cannot find the number that they have on the registration (R93440341) I don't know that this is an actual engine number looks more like a casting number to me.
does any one know what and where this number would be found in the engine area
4.7l V8 engine

I can't say for sure where it is on the engine on your vehicle but starting in the late 1960's, it was stamped on the edge of the engine block just about the oil pan. If you have a LHD car, it will be on the drivers side. I can't say where it is on RHD sent to places like Japan.

Wow, only 121k miles. not bad for a over 20+ year old truck.
