I have a 1998 Dodge Durango 5.2 v8 with 4wd. It has been sitting up for 6 or so years with a crank no start. On the instrument cluster all the dash lights are on, none of the gauges work, and the odometer is flashing but it never shows NO BUS. Doing the self test on the odometer, it shows 920, 921, and 999, just communication codes from what I’ve read. I’ve tried connecting multiple brands of scan tools to it, just to verify it wasn’t the tool but I haven’t been able to connect to any of the computers. I have 12v to pin 16 on the data link connector, and both grounds checked good (pin 4 and 5) but on pins 3,6,7, and 11 I’m not receiving any voltage. I’ve tried putting another pcm out of another Durango to see if anything would change but nothing did. I’m not positive the pcm is fried but I don’t want to spend the 300 dollars until I guarantee the problem. Are these durangos vin locked? It does have a security system built into the CTM but I didn’t think the security system would disable the ability to read codes. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Do all the lights stay on? Are you getting spark? Injector pulse? Does the fuel pump run?
Yes the lights stay on, even disconnecting the battery and “reseting” everything nothing changes. No spark, fuel pump pretty sure is messed up but it was working, for some reason it would stay on whenever you cycled the key, but it has been sitting up for 6 years
if you cant communicate im wondering is one of the modules involved is shorting out the communications bus, idr if these trucks are CAN or not, but i have seen it happen with the CAN network

I was thinking that too, I tried unplugging each of the modules one at a time to just see if I would gain access to any of the modules but I unplugged them all except for the Srs, I had a difficult time getting to that one. But these do have Can network, if that’s the same as CCD
