Hi all.
I would like to know what gearbox I have in my 99' Durango SLT 4x4, 5.2 V8 Magnum.
The decoder from this forum says I have a gearbox with the DGB code, and the MOPAR gearbox list says it is a 47RE gearbox. Is that possible?
I would like to know how to physically check what kind of tranny I have, any distinctive features?

47 won't bolt to the 5.2, you most likely have a 46RE trans.

There *should* be a part number stamped in one of the pan rails on the trans..... Likely covered in dirt at this point.

Can you tell me if these boxes are quite durable if I change the oil frequently, don't tow and don't do off-roading? I don't know anything about them yet What goes wrong with them?

 

Keep up on the maintenance, and they will last a good long time. I had over 200K on mine, in a full size truck, and it still worked perfectly fine.

Hhhmmm... At one time, I thought they had a european website, but, now, I can't find it.... They do some international shipping, I think..... If not, there are re-shippers available that will play intermediary, rockauto ships to them, they ship to you. Likely not inexpensive though.....
