Speed Control?

I see output shaft speed, I would think that is the sensor in trans. That does seem kinda low though, but, I suppose, that would depend on what speed you were going when you took that snap.

Hmmm, maybe Speed Control. Now what set speed means. I was doing just under 10mph.

Damn I am wondering if that is cruise control.

Everything online keeps saying the 1-2 shifts are controlled by the TV. I haven't touched that. I can grab the mechanism and pull and it snaps back just like my other R/T. So I don't think its that.

BTW thanks @HeyYou , looks like its just you and me on here.

So I also hooked up my autel scanner, because I don't need to pc and its basically giving me all the same data points as the witch. But I can record the trip. Now looking over the data today about 350 frames, 6 minute short trip up the block.

I logged two trips. On the second day, I just noticed that at one point I have data coming from the "output speed shaft" but nothing from the "Vehicle Speed Signal" for a certain portion (see still screen). At 780 output, based on the first log, I should be showing about 26 mph or 16 km/h in veh speed. The thing that is puzzling me now is I am pretty sure the speedometer never skipped a beat and was showing the correct speed. Out of the 310 frames in the recorded data I had output shaft and was missing vehicle speed for at least 30-40 frames.

Interesting..... Not seeing vehicle speed would set a code, but, why it would set output sensor codes is a mystery to me. According to the wiring diagrams, PCM gets vss signal first, then distributes it to where it needs to go. (ABS module, and the comm bus.) I have no idea if the PCM will use output speed sensor is a backup if VSS fails..... but, it seems to me, that *should* set a VSS code.... not a trans code.

Also, "value" shows as zero to something truly silly, but, the display is not a number. Not sure what that means either......

So today I tried adjusting the outside band since I have never done that. Loosened the nut and started to thread in my adjustment band screw. It went down pretty deep way past the retainer lock nut. I torqued in and then backed it out 2-7/8" and a little bit more just the lock nut would hold it.

So I am thinking either my band broke or the band anchor fell off. I found another thread that talks about this on another forum.

btw here is another great thread on this part with photos. I'll have to take down my valve body again and inspect. Assume that the band just worn down enough to the point where it was free to fall, but that is just me thinking out loud.

Just following up, sure enough the front band anchor had fallen out. My drum looks good from what I am seeing. I can't tell at all if the slip in band has any material left. Assume it fell out because its worn and never been adjusted.

@HeyYou are you the same account I see in all the old threads? Anyways, I trying to get a hold of a slip in band. I see that your account mentioned a site last year transmissioncenter.net but that domain is down. Any help on where else to get a slip in band or any info on better quality between slip in bands? I have seen 2 mention they are slip in and kevlar but no one online seems to have stock.

thanks

Wow, that's just weird..... That site has been my go-to for quite some time now.... I would expect other performance transmission sites should offer similar products...

And yep, same account since 2010. Moved up in the ranks some since then though, that, and check my post count.... I LIVE on the forums. At least, I did for quite some time. (health issues.....)
