Upgraded Fuel Injectors 2001 Durango 4.7L SLT+
Hey all
Random question for the hive mind....I know the 4 hole injectors work good with the 4.7L engines as I have placed them in 2 different Duragnos. I was looking on Flea-Bay and now I see they are offering up to 8 hole injectors. Is there any benefit to going to the 8 hole injectors or stick with the known 4 hole injectors? Both sets are re-man Bosch with lifetime warranty and are similarly priced. I'm rebuilding my spare 4.7 to put into the wife's new to us 2001 Durango and want to see if there are any upgrade I can do to the engine while rebuilding.
Thanks in advance
Steve

Theoretically, more holes equal better atomization... Does it actually work that way? Don't know.... I know on the 5.2/5.9 engines, the injector is aimed at the back side of the intake valve, so, when the injector fires, it immediately flashes into vapor on the back side of the intake valve... which also has a side effect of cooling the valve.
Haven't been inside a 4.7 to see where those are pointed.
