recommendations for crankshaft position sensors
Not sure, would be a safe way to check that? My fan shroud deteriorated years ago and don't have one, and that fan blade is dangerous close to my dipstick tube to get my sausage fingers in there and feel with the engine running 😂
Edit* the pickup. Of yourself you meant the pickup lol. I don't think so but that's probably were I'm gonna have to start looking. Now I gotta weigh my options on how to get to the pan (4x4) do I remove the engine or the whole front axle 🤣

Must be nice 😂 I'll be getting to this tomorrow and keep you guys posted
On my Dodge truck 01 RAM 5.9 I was battleing a Cam position sensor code and couldn't figure it out. I had a new sensor from Oreilly's in and I replaced the crank sensor also. I replaced the Cam sensor with a Mopar and it fired right up. My opinion is Mopar only and Champion or Chrysler plugs. I've always been an Autolite fan and put a set in my Ram in 03 and it ran like crap uphill and otherwise. I called my buddy that was the service Manger at a Dodge dealership and right out of his mouth immediately he said, "Did you change the plugs?" I said yeah. "What did you put in?" Autolite. "Take em' out that your problem. Only use Chrysler or Champions that makes Chryslers". The problem went away. Use Mopar when at all possible on sensors and so forth to avoid issues.
