Default recommendations for crankshaft position sensors

So getting to the tail end of my engine rebuild and as I'm testing everything up I have a code popping up for my newly bought crankshaft position sensor. I've come to discover that aftermarket sensors don't play well with these and would like to get some personal recommendations on brands.

Also unrelated to the crankshaft I'm not getting any oil pressure on my dash after a few minutes idling, do these not play well with oil pressure sensors either? If so I could use recommendations for those too 😆

Screw a mechanical gauge into it to test oil pressure. Make sure that is good FIRST.

Look up the mopar crank sensor part number, google search on that. You can generally find them on amazon or ebay for a reasonable price, just make SURE they are GENUINE MOPAR parts, and not cheap chinese knockoffs.....

Genuine Mopar is the best but they are obsolete and getting harder to find. I have a Delphi one in my 5.9 for the last 10 years with no issues. Have you checked that the motor HAS oil pressure with a mechanical gauge?

I have not, can't seem to find my oil tester gauge so getting one of those is on my to do list before the break in/ road test.

So update, gauge tested it and still have no pressure, so I feel a little better about the sensor not being the issue but still can't seem to build pressure. I for the life of me cannot figure out the issue. Distributor, int shaft, pump, pickup tube/screen and filter are all new and torqued to spec. The only thing that isn't new is the camshaft which I'm positive isn't the issue.

Anyone got an ideas?

It is. The only thing I can think is that my new oil pump is faulty. Maybe a stuck bypass valve in the pump? I only got oil pressure for a moment when I got it to about 1k on the initial start up and went back down to 0 as soon as I let off

Did you compare the pick up tube to the new one? Is it possible it's to close to the bottom of the pan and not allowing oil to be pulled in?

No, I'm pretty sure it's not to close to the bottom of the pan, I would've heard it scraping when putting the pan on. it's identical to the one I pulled off. these 5.9 engines oil pans have a little sheet metal "hoop" you have to hook the head of the pick-up tube, so you have to slide the pan forward to unhook it before you can drop the pan. So I know it's in the deepest part of the pan with with enough room for oil.

Is it just sucking air where the pickup tube hits the pump?
