Lightbulb OE Engine Block Heater leaking Coolant. w/Pic

So yes, my original equipment engine block heater is leaking coolant. A steady drop, drop. What goes bad with these? What are my options for fixing it?

Okay so looks like an o-ring seals it and is secured with the screw. I'm not near the vehicle right now but could it be as simple as tightening the screw? I'll try that tomorrow and check back.

Default Update.

I tried to tighten the screw and it made the drip worse. Guessing the o-ring is just old. So I'll probably just order a new heater from MaMopar.

Edit: Looks like you can buy the o-ring under part number #6501445 a discontinued part, of course.

But last I checked. The heater still worked. It doesn't get too cold here. If I used it more, I'd pay the $80 for a new unit. So for now, I just need it to stop leaking. I'll find an o-ring.

If you don't really need it, just get a soft plug for the hole.

You can buy a whole box of assorted o-rings if u can't find the part.
