who has the most miles on a 5.9????
ok, so i just rolled over 230,000 on my 5.9 L
I was wondering how many miles people have run before needing a rebuild?
Im starting to wonder how much longer this old girl will hold out.

Dodge will drive till it completely dies, trust me lol i did this on my 89 ram with a 318, i bought mine in jan of this year at 51k miles, as of today it's at 82,900 miles an rolling, i'v done some engine work on mine, not because it needed it but only because i wanted it, if i remember correctly when i read a online thing about dodge engines, from 91 to present day they push for the engine to last till 400,000 before you need a rebuild, but if u change your oil regularly an keep your engine clean, i personally believe it'll last longer
i just turned over 98,000 miles on my 98 durango. dodge seems to run forever. but i'll prolly get flamed for this...i have a 91 silverado. original engine. rebuilt tranny that my parents use on the farm n to run errands with and it just turned over 280,000. just proof that if you take proper care of it. it will last forever.
RebelX, I saw on chevy's silverado page (yes, i know, its the "enemy"), they have a "silverado 200,000 mile club" (where people praise their silverados for being great, long lasting trucks, etc etc, they have a few trucks with over 500K)
Dodge should do something like that.
But back on topic... just take proper care of the motor, pray, and everything should go fine. With my 3.9, I'd like to see (and know i will) 250,000 (the real question is, how many trannys will that be?)

I am pushing 72k on my 2000 R/T. Still runs like brand new. Then again, I always do severe maintenance schedules on this D to make sure it stays running like new.

prolly a couple lol for some reason dodge OEM trannys dont last very long, like 100k miles is when they start wearing out
neither do chevy's...my truck is on its 3rd 700R4...them things are expensive...but cheap compared to dodges..

I just rolled over 40,000 miles on my truck. I bought it just under 30,000 miles and had to have the tranny rebuilt at 35,000 miles but it's good to hear that the engine won't be going out on me any time soon... hopefully

lol. i've noticed that about dodge trannys both my parents 01 Ram n my bros 00 Ram both dropped the tranny around 35-45000 miles on em...upon replacement, they told us the convertors went out n filled the system full of metal..
I had 124K when my head gasket blew but didn't know because it was raining hard and the sun was shinning.[sm=bangbang.gif]It took out the rings.
But that's ok I had and excuse to build what I wanted.
