Default High performance Shocks?

Need some help with what works and what doesn't. Have a 01 SLT+ 4x4 with the 5.9l. Has the factory 16 inch wheels with 265/70x16 tires, front and rear factory sway bars, no lift. Only mods are a 50 series flowmaster. I need to replace the factory shocks so it stops bouncing like the Uncle Buck mobile. I do zero off road and a lot of highway miles. I searched the post and Koni and Bilstiens are popular but anyone do this swap and notice a big difference? Any other brands out there? Any companies make poly bushings for factory sways? Bilstiens are pricey? Is it worth it?

Appreciate the help.

Go the Bils route.

Since they are good enough for OEM stock equipment on the SRT-10 Viper Powered V-10 RAM, they are good enough for my '00 Durango. I've had them over a year and yes they are better than the stockers by a mile. The stockers were simply terrible.

+1
I love the Bilsteins and for the freeway they are much better at handling than my stockers were.

Tokico Treckmaster shocks are good too, I put them on my 98'. They are better than the stock shocks, and less expensive than Bilsteins.

I heard that about those. KYB makes a sport shock at tirerack.com. The only other I can find are the Bils. Im trying to get a sport ride and will eventually up the sway bars and bushings. Am starting to look at the Rancho RS 9000 to see is the adjustability is the way to go.

yea i would go with monroe, at least thats what we use, but we use the reflex, the sens-a-trac are their cheapest and lowest quality shock while the reflex is one of the best, we have them and they dont bounce at all (weve had them in for a year or so now) and the ride is amazingly smooth
