Default rear/front axle fluid change

I want to change both my axle (differential, whatever you call them) fluids. Whats the best way to do this? should I switch to synthetic or just use the regualr fluid? also do they need a gasket or just some sealant? thanks

Sorry, but from the sounds of it, you may be best off taking it to a transmission shop for the service. Or buy a FSM on the repairs and go from there.

The front diff on my 4x4, PITA and the shop does it. The rear diff, small PITA and I do it myself. Get a pump and you don't have to take the cover off.

Indy you gotta take off the cover so you know what kind of crap is in your diff but it would be a lot easier with a pump...
