Torsion Bar Lifting
Ok, i seen that when doing a shackle lift you raise the torsion bars to make up the height difference, my question is what is the max you can adjust the torsion bars if i was to do the shackle trick and then put 2" blocks in the back, would i be able to compensate for that with the torsion bars only??
Also, where can i get the shackles at?
Thanks, Robert

It's not suggested that you raise the torsion bars more than 2 inches. The ride gets pretty harsh and you put a lot of stress on the front cv joints.
Also blocks in the rear arent suggested by a lotta guys here. Go with the drop shackles. If you need a lil more height you could alwyas do a body lift, pretty cheap. bout 200$.
shackles form Performance accessories or summit racing. they are actually 1 inch drop shackles for a chevy truck.

you can also find more out by searching torsion, or shackle.

It always saddens me when people do the torsion bar lift too far. They destroy the front suspension and tear up those nice big tires they paid so much for because they don't get it aligned. [sm=badidea.gif]
Do you think that would be enough to fit 285/70-17's? I can always do a little trimming, but right now it would be alot of trimming without the shackles. I think the 285's measure like 32.7 if i remember right. Thanks, Robert
are your 17" rims after-market? D's came with 15" depending on your model. The R/T came with 16 or 17, im not positive.
the 285/70/17 are 32.7" tall, and 11.2" wide.MotoXNut just said that he is rubbing 32 x 11.5 after the torsion lift. https://dodgeforum.com/m_693237/tm.htm
You will rub on full-lock turns

They are rt wheels, rubbing on full turns wont bother me that much as long as thats the only place, thanks, robert

You replace the rears with a 1 inch lowering shackle for a chevy, but it actually raises the back 2 inches. There aren't any shackles up front. To raise the front you "crank" the torsion bars which lifts the front.
