Default Tire question ?

It's getting to that time to replace these Goodyear RT/S tires on my 02' Durango. I have narrowed it down to a few tires and wanted to know what you guys thought.
1. Goodyear Wrangler AT/D2 only available at Sam's Club. Nice looking tire with a AT look which I like.
2. Michelin XRL's More of a road look to them and $125 more then the Goodyear.
3. Toyo Open Country AT; Never heard of but, Belle tire says there great.Same price as the Michelin.

I'm trying to get a good price and the Goodyear Wrangler seems to be the best deal. Has anyone owned these? How does it perform for raod use and some off road? Thanx for the help.

my dad is running the good year wranglers and they seem to handle pretty good on the road and off when we go camping with his truck, so they would be my choice but im tight on $$$ so the price would be a deciding factor for me

I can only speak for Michelins, of course it depends on your use, but for my driving (normal city/highway no off road but all season quiet ride.)

My vote is Michelin X-RADIALLT Mine are 245/70/R16. Along with that my vote for purchase is Costco, Filled with Nitrogen, very courteous and professional service, reaonable price good warranty. My second vote would be BridgeStone Duelersbut that was on my 98 Cherokee, I know Costco doesnt sell Bridgestone anymore but they were good for my use back then. a

My vote is mainly based on Recommendataions for COSTCO, I realize that limits your choice but the quality of service goes way beyond the tires. and If it is a matter of a brand and the brand available at Costco or Sams Club, I strongly recommend COSTCO.

Hope this helps.

Steve

We put Toyo tires on my Girlfriends 02 D.we bought at Town Fair Tire. If you are looking for longetivity, they wear like iron. plus TFT does free tire rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire.
Total cost was approx$800 but well worth it. IMHO that is

I have had good luck so far with the Firestone Destination LE. They beat the pants off of the OEM Wranglers which were terrible in the rain, but pretty good in the dry and snow.

I would also recommend the destination LE for highway or the destination AT if you get off road any.
Goodyear has gone down hill over time I see alot of them out of round and such. i would not run them on my veicle
Michelin french owned who also makes BFGoodrich
are just over priced and just make anyything ride like a cadillac or a lincoln.
back to firestone premium top of the line stuff
destination Le/AT - 30 day buy and try,UNI-T technology -
several things from the way the tires is designed to what they use in the rubber compound one being silica(fine glass and sand mixture)
whichincreases tread wear and wet and dry traction.

I have Fuzion XTi on my durango which is an all AT type and have the uni t and they are awesome

Also I work in a tireshopand if you're in central ohio let me know
we got the best deals in the midwest!!!!!!!

We sell tires/wheels new/used we do suspension work, brakes alignments also buy a set of tires from us service is free for the life of the tire no hassle no gimmick !!!!
