Default New Tires

My first post here, but I've read thru a lot - thanks for the help, btw.

I have a 2000 SLT+ and I know I'm going to need new tires before the winter. I don't do any off roading (unless you count the city potholes!) and the tire size on my truck is 31x10.50R15/C.

Can anyone suggest a good all season and quiet tire? I'm really not a big fan of the Wranglers that came with it. I saw the post about the Fronteras but I think I want to try another brand all together.

Thanks for the help!

I'm more into AT type tires, myself, so I dont have too much feedback about All Season tires. I do know that the Goodyear RT/s tires I had stock were terrible. I went to The Tire Rack website when I was looking. They have lots of good info and reviews to look at.

Thanks so much Ken. I checked out the site and it seems that the Michelin LTX M/S are the tires for me. A bit on the pricey side, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Ok, I'm on set number 3! Originals-Comp T/A's and now Bridgestone Dueler H/P. These are by far the best wet/dry tire I have driven! I wish they made them for my Vette! Yeah.they are that good!

Good luck. Big Paul

The Michelin LTX M/S are excellent tires. Long lasting and great handling. Check your local Costco for prices. They are usually a bit cheaper for them. Sometimes CostCo or other warehouse stores sell the same tire under a different name unique to warehouse stores. I believe the Michelin X-Radial and a couple other names are really the same tire but can only be purchased at CostCo or similar store. If you have a Discount Tires store in your area you might check their prices as well.

Oh Yeah......check the ratings on the Bridgestone Dueler H/P's on Tirerack.com. That's where I got them.

Thanks for all your help folks. After checking around the area (NYC), Costco has the best price on the Michelin's. Big Paul, thanks for the advice on the Bridgestone's but I had those on an old Pathfinder and let's just say that I wish I had the same experience as you're having with them.

have a great weekend!
