RPM low, 'PICTURES INSIDE'
the idle air bypass valve, (also known as an idle air control valve) is located on the back of the throttle body and is held in place by 2 torx head screws i dont remeber which size off hand, but if you take it out and clean it, it should be a brassy color when it is clean, then put it back in you need to let the truck run to re learn the position of it as the end does move in and out, it should be the only thing back there with an electrical wire going to it but dont quote me on it, its been a while since i had to touch mine
nah you dont want to touch that cable, you may throw normal idle out of adjusment and she will fast idle... this sounds like she needs a tune up.. spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor... but before you do a tune up, run the beloved SEAFOAM through her to clean out everything, she will smoke like a bastard... then do a tune up, it can foul your spark plugs.. what engine is in your durango?
I also do not think you shoud go turning the idle wire. With the A/C it seems your idle is correct so if you start playing with that wire then the idle with A/C on will be high. I would also replace the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. Its right behing the TB and is in there with two bolts just as nother memeber said. This should run you about $30 from Autozone and take no more then 20 minutes to install even with your experiance. If you would like email me and I can send you a picture of the valve.
probably the TPS or IAC needs cleaning - search this forum for how to do it...very easy...
if thats the worst of your problems count yourself lucky...you may find that you're quite knowledeable about Durango's in a years time...!!

Any out there w/low idle problems when 4.7..2002 durango is running hot...summer driving conditions,,,,,replaced intake air temp sensor..no change..could it be the idle air control valve?...if so how do you disconnect the wires and can only see one out of the 2 hex screws holding it in place?...
