Default New speakers?

I have a 98 plymouth neon, 2 dr, with sony cdx player and not sure on the type ofspeakers but wheneverI play music and turn the volume up all the way it doesn't seem that loud and when the volume's up the sound quality sucks. Sodo you guys have any recommendations on new speaker types or speakers/cd player combination. Im knew to working on cars so any advice is welcome.

yea...
DON'T GET SONY SPEAKERS!!!
hahahahaha

my buddy had a pair in his first car and they really sucked
the whole setup actually sucked...haha

i have a whole pioneer setup which sounds really good to me (other than it's almost 10 years old and the speakers are about to blow)
but a lot of my friends have pioneer or alpine with subs and amps and they are all really good (even the ones with no amps)
so if you want cheap(er) just go get a pioneer setup

I had a sony cd player and it was brand new and it sounded like @#@# so i sold it and bought a pioneer and kept the same speakers and it had better sound quality played louder and clearer,so maybe it could be ur cd player,,and to install the speakers in the doors u need to remove the door panels,,good luck!
