i keep seeing how to's on the srt4 swap and believe me i am all for it but i have seen sohc models with around 400 horse... i mean what is so special about the srt4 motor as apposed to a built up 2.0liter we already have?

 

You haven't seen too many SOHC with over 400 HP. Roach had one and it took an incredible amount of mods and tuning to get there.

There is one guy who ran a 13.5 or somewhere around there after the SRT-4 swap into his 1st gen. It's a blue coupe with direct nitrous injection.

 

there is a blue r/t not that far away from me with the srt4 swap in it. he said it ran 12.81@ 110 mph. he is pushing 280whp and 315ftlbs of torgue. so i think its worth it. but thats a lot of time and money when i can build a 2.0 and push good numbers like that for the same amount of money.

 

well for 3k more i just bought a new car....and now i have 500hp on a slightly modded engine.......

 

personally i feel the srt-4 swap is ruthless .. i have a bunch of honda loving friends who even tho they hate on neons all day long admit the srt 4 swap is effin ruthless ... i live in a perty small town if i did the swap it prolly be the fastest neon around but im not tht worried about it ... sure it s intense but iunno if the swap is worth it to me or not

 

I may tackle the SRT-4 swap one day if I get enough spare time.

Obviously it takes alot of free time and hard work but how much do you think it would cost? just an estimate?
