welp, its amazing how easy it was when i got the right puller, altho it wouldnt get it off yet, it wasnt deep enough so i improvised and put a socket over the hole of the puller and then put the rod into the crank. i didnt realize how friggin hard this project was going to be. in 14 hours or so into it and i have around 2 hours left. it was getting dark and at the end of a long day i got it started and come to find out i plugged the iac plug into the map and it ran like ****, after i fixed it it ran better. we will see in the morning.

quick question, i left the seal out of the timing cover thats behind the cam pully. is it going to leak oil? im pretty sure it will so i will have to reinstall it. hopefully tommorow will go smooth so i can finish this.

Matt
ohh and the original kit that came with the puller includes 3 rods of diffrent legnths. thats why you had trouble.

and just a thought my sister had a ranger 4 cyl and had 8 plugs. and you had to take more of that apart just to do a simple tune up. dont recall all she had to take apart but i think it was part of the intake manifold. . . .Ill stick with my neon

The puller I got from autozone came with two rods, but the longer one was about 1/2" too short, it came most of the way off but not enough for me to pull on it.
