Default 95 dodge neon harmonic balancer

im having a hell of a time pulling the dampener off. i was using a regular 3 puller and it wasnt working (pushed on the bolt) and now i have the correct pullers. anyone ever have problems pulling this off? also, im trying to get the head off to replace the headgasket. i have read the tutorials that i have found and this is turning out to be alot more intense than i expected. anyone have any tips / tricks?

Matt

There isn't much to removing the head. You didn't have to remove the crank pulley to get the head off.

There isn't much to removing the head. You didn't have to remove the crank pulley to get the head off.
This is news to me.You cant get the timing belt cover off without removing that pulley. And you cant get to the timing belt tensioner to remove timing belt with the cover still on?

As far as getting pulley off, without the right tool, its a ROYAL PAIN.With the correct tool, It's not hard at all to pull off.Getting it on is a trick too.Which will require a torch to heat the pulley up, and an impact gun to tighten the nut after pulley is warmed up.That's the ONLY way I could get my pulley back on there.Good Luck

That's seriously a no brainer, das2123. I mean, do you really expect them to get the cover off without the the pulley being removed?

Make sure you don't got with the Unorthodox Racing pulley or anything of that sort. Definitely get another harmonic balancer, if you get any aftermarket parts.
