Default Bored Out

What the heck does bored out mean and how hard or how much does it cost to get your engine bored out??
does it increaseperformance??
if youve had it done what all do you need?

if your talking about what i think your talking about to get ancylinder bored you have to take it to a macine shop you'll need new pistons to fit the overboremodern preformace makes the bottom end kits
you probaly couldn't do it and the bore wont be to expencive its the bottom end kit thats expencive i thinkyou can get a few more things bored ask a macine shop

It is increasing the cylinder wall in diameter. You should have a machine shop do it for you. It does increase performance, but as mentioned you will need 2.0L pistons with a 0.20 overbore.

you will need 2.0L pistons with a 0.20 overbore.
if you get it bored 0.20 over......not 0.40 over or larger

True, but anything over 0.20 is pushing it.

the shop that is doing my motor is charging $100 for just the bore and hone....but there is a little more that is necessary to get it done properly

damn we get ripped off here...



how come it costs so much to bore out an intake manifold?
well atleast here it's around 400-600 depends where you go

^^ x2. My uncle owns a shop so I was thinkin about porting and polishing my intake manifold, but I just know it is a hell of alot of work and time
