Valves?
My cousin gave me a 95 neon w/ 2.0, runs on 3 cylinders, checked compression and there is none on the 4th cylinder. Took off the valve cover and nothing obvious. I'm guessing it's a valve? Do I need to pull the head to confirm? Is this common? never had a neon.
Thanks

1st 3 was in the 110 to 120 range, started taking off the head, I haven't got a lot of time to work on it, but got the intake off and working on the exhaust now. also having a little problem with the crank pulley, I have a puller, but it doesn't budge. I may need a smaller one that doesn't want to slip.
I was thinking maybe going back with some headers, any thoughts or opinions?
thanks

yeah there is a puller made by snap on "blue point" that makes the job quick and literaly pain less.
you can rent it at auto zone and when you return it you get your money back, make sure it has all 3 rods that are included in the kit
YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE ALTERNATER OFF TO GET TO THE LAST BOLT ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. *grumble* i dont want to talk aobut it. anyways good luck and i would say its a bent or broken valve, most likely its a bad seat. if it were the rings you would at least get something.

You do have to take off the alternator? This comes as a big shock considering that I didnt have to. Maybe it is just because yours is a DOHC, ours are single. On the puller note, yeah, you need the special chrysler/mitsu puller. Go over to autozone and it is about 60 bucks, then you can return it and get every penny of your money back (part of their "loner tool program.") The difference is that a regular 3 jaw puller pushes on the pulley itself, that little round part that looks like it is the crank is really the pulley, I found this out the hard way... The autozone puller has rods that go down into the crank and push off it, it comes off in a snap!!
Shouldnt it be more from 150-175 range? I didnt even pay any attention to the numbers...

My cousin did the compression test, I may be mistaken on those numbers. He is a mechanic and just got some other car for $100 cause the lady said the motor was blown but it was just the pressure cap on the radiator. He also has another project in his garage and just needed the room.
Anyway, I'll rent the puller and give an update!!
Thanks
